The holiday season is in full swing, and now it’s time to find gaming gifts for all your friends and family. Maybe you’re looking for something for a family member that likes skating, or games like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. Well, if that’s the case, Easy Day Studio’s latest announcement has you covered.

Easy Day Studios released a brand-new trailer for Skater XL to celebrate the upcoming Nintendo Switch release. In fact, Skater XL will be released on Nintendo Switch in North America on December 5th, 2023. Australian and European region players will have to wait until December 12th in order to get their hands on the game. Regardless, Skater XL will be available in both digital and physical retail versions.

If you aren’t already familiar with Skater XL, here is some info via the game’s Steam page: “Skater XL is the evolution of skateboarding gameplay. With its Independent Foot Control System and unique physics-based gameplay, skate gamers finally have the expressive controls they have always dreamed of.

Dive into skateboarding paradise with levels that feature famous skate landmarks and environmental elements, including Downtown LA, the ginormous The Big Ramp, Easy Day High School, and community-created maps like Grant Park, Hüdland and Streets. Play as some of today’s top skateboarding pros Tiago Lemos, Evan Smith, Tom Asta, and Brandon Westgate, or customize and create your own skateboarding legend with gear from more than 30 real skate brands. Skater XL is truly the skateboarding world’s digital counterpart.”

I’m happy to see more skateboarding games being released across platforms. Skater XL has a passionate community and I am sure that the Nintendo Switch players will be just as eager to dive in. While I’m not sure if the modding and custom creation scene will be compatible with the Nintendo Switch, players still have a lot to enjoy with Skater XL.
