Monday, praise the day there was news: Wonder Woman is not to be a live service. Tuesday, Lies of P publisher Neowiz is doing a sale until the 28th. Wednesday, Kingsgrave was given a release window, and Dying Light 2 is crossing over with For Honor. Thursday, Cyberpunk 2077 is getting an Ultimate Edition but without on-disc DLC for PS5, and a Star Wars game got an update, it only took 17 years. Yes, even with news to fill out the paragraph, it very rarely excites at this late stage in the year.
The game available this week on the Epic Games Store is Deliver Us Mars. The sequel to Deliver Us the Moon is a mildly appreciated puzzle-walking sim title with the usual idea of “we’re doing all the tropes of this genre, you will sit there and like it or go away.” I don’t hate the Deliver Us series. In fact, I don’t really have an opinion of it. That’s the problem, especially given how much sci-fi and space I do care about. Deliver Us Mars might iron out some kinks of the series, but to say it is cherished would be wrong.
All this week, you can pick up Deliver Us Mars on the Epic Games Store until next Thursday. So what is available next week? Two fighting games you’ve probably never heard of, Jitsu Squad, which is a team-based co-op beat ’em up. If only it didn’t use the artwork from Bloons TD 6. The other is a grab bag of modes, Mighty Fight Federation. Which should really be called Mighty Fighting Federation but what do I know about flow in language? I’m sure I’ll have plenty of things to say about a genre of gaming I don’t play.
