New Humble Bundle For Action Roguelikes

Humble Bundle has gathered tons of great game niches into their bundle offerings over several years, and has even expanded into having a games marketplace and becoming a publisher. Entitled “Action Roguelikes: What Kills You Makes You Stronger,” this offering includes four tiers and a who’s-who of great titles that have more than piqued my interest in recent years. There’s no shortage of fun to be had in this genre and I’m already setting my sights on the full 8-item bundle, currently priced at a paltry $13. Let’s take a look at what’s on hand for this bundle!

The most premium game only available in the highest tier is Barony, a pixel-y Rogue-like that offers up to 4-player co-op. Also in the 8-game tier is Lumencraft, a game that meshes action RPG with base-building and tower defense. In the 6-game tier, you can get Dead Estate, an overwhelmingly positive horror-themed twin-stick title, as well as Paint The Town Red, which sports a unique art style and the ability to fight enemies with anything that isn’t bolted down to the ground. There’s still plenty more to play in the cheaper tiers, as well!

I’ve been waiting to pull the trigger on buying God of Weapons, and this nifty bullet heaven is included in Humble Bundle’s 4-game tier. At that price, the intriguing Wall World is also up for grabs, which sees you traverse a mine via vehicle and dig/fight as you make your way through it. This tier also includes a 40% off coupon for the newly-released Gunhead, a sequel to the game in the 1-game tier, Cryptark. The coupon can be redeemed within the Humble Store and will save you eight dollars on it.

Overall, I find this to be one of the best Humble Bundle offerings in recent memory, especially as a huge fan of the genre. While they could have easily saddled a lot of samey games, there’s ample variety across these action Rogue-likes so that every Rogue-like fan can find something they’ll like out of it with the same common denominator present.
