As anyone who reads our site regularly knows, I love a good RPG. Furthermore, I love Tactical RPGs and grew up on the likes of Final Fantasy Tactics and Fire Emblem. While some of the Indie Tactical RPGs have been a mixed bag, Peacebreak Studios’ debut game looks like it might be one of the good ones.

Peacebreak Studios released a trailer on Wednesday for Beaten Path, a turn-based Tactical RPG making its way to Kickstarter soon. The Steam page already has some impressive images and a variety of details, so I’m assuming the Kickstarter campaign is meant to secure funding for a speedier development cycle, as well as so the development team can work on the game full-time.

Here is what the press release has to say about Beaten Path. “Beaten Path is a turn-based, tactical RPG following the story of a mage and her student as they traverse a shattered world, recruit allies, fend off foes, and strategize their way to victory. Strengthen your characters and learn new skills to repel the monstrous Grarl and learn their origins.”

The press release also boasts that the game will feature over 20 unique maps, 100 abilities, and 30 characters. Each of the 20 maps will have a variety of win/loss conditions, each requiring different tactical approaches. The characters available will have multiple skill trees, a custom class, and a variety of abilities. They will also have equipment and the potential for upgrades so that you can customize them as you see fit.

Beaten Path will be coming to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, though we don’t know when yet. I’m excited to see how the Kickstarter campaign fares since it looks like a polished, interesting game already. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait long for more information about Beaten Path.
