All-Star Battle R Adds First Season 2 Character

A couple of months ago we talked about how Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R was being updated with the final character for season 1, Alternate World Diego. Ending on this memorable character from part 7 (a.k.a. Steel Ball Run) was a great choice, even though it continued the trend of using characters that were seen in the 2013 JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven game. That didn’t mean the end of content though, as it was also announced that we would be seeing three more fighters join through a second season of DLC. The first has finally been revealed to be Leone Abbacchio from part 5 Golden Wind.

Leone Abbacchio has long been a character that fans have hoped to see. His absence was sorely felt in the original All-Star Battle and especially Eyes of Heaven, given that he was the only main character to not be included. Many had assumed that he would be a difficult fighter to design due to his unique Moody Blues Stand power. His stand power was used more for recreating past events than it was for actual fighting.

Unfortunately, there isn’t that much to tell from this reveal trailer. We see some standard rush attacks and his Heart Heat Attack has him attack you with a simple combo that Moody Blues then repeats. His Great Heat Attack is also a reenactment of the hilarious and meme-worthy beatdown that he, Guido Mista, and Narancia Ghirga give to an unfortunate bystander.

He’ll be released for everyone in only a couple of days on September 1st, although season pass owners can start playing him right now. The next two characters to be added will be coming from Part 4 Diamond is Unbreakable and Part 8 JoJolion. There are plenty of theories on who they’ll be, but we’ll have to wait until later in Autumn and this late Winter to see who they are.
