This past week THQ Nordic held a digital showcase that revealed some exciting new titles. Kicking off the presentation was a short teaser for Alone in the Dark. The teaser showcased Stranger Things star David Harbour who plays the protagonist Edward Carnby. The horror title will feature a prologue that is available for download now.

Next up was the announcement trailer for South Park: Snow Day. This title will be a co-op game featuring the cast of the South Park TV show. From the brief glimpse of gameplay, it seems the focus will be on melee combat but with no shortage of chaotic weaponry.

Following this came an announcement and gameplay trailer for Outcast- A New Beginning. In this third-person action-adventure title players take on the role of Cutter Slade, a human stranded on the alien world of Adelpha. Cutter is chosen by the people of the planet to help liberate them from invaders and must traverse the vast interconnected world on his quest. The gameplay features a heavy degree of verticality and mobility options as Cutter uses his jetpack to solve puzzles and fight enemies.

The wacky racing title Wreckreation came next. Featuring extensive customization and creative tools, this game combines the best elements of a title like Roller Coaster Tycoon with classic racing simulation gameplay.

Alongside this reveal was the announcement trailer for Titan Quest II. Although no gameplay was shown longtime fans of the original 2006 game can likely expect similar action RPG elements to return. This time the story will focus on stopping the goddess of retribution Nemesis as she plots to tamper with the strands of Fate itself. Titan Quest II is still in development with no release date as of now

For strategy game fans like myself, there was a lot to look forward to here. Along with a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming RTS Tempest Rising came the gameplay reveal of Last Train Home. This game places you in command of a Czechoslovak squadron traveling by train through the war-torn Siberian countryside. The game places a heavy focus not only on strategic combat but survival as you must manage resources and ensure the safety of your recruits. The Last Train Home will be launching on PC later this year. Meanwhile, Tempest Rising will be available in early access from August 11th through the 28th on Steam.

Ahead of its full launch on August 31st came the final gameplay trailer for Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy. This puzzle game will allow for couch co-op play. Pre-orders for this charming puzzle platformer are available now and those who preorder will save 20% on the purchase.

Alongside this game came the reveal trailer of Space for Sale. This charming new IP will be developed by Mirage Studios. You take on the role of an interplanetary property developer who must construct a variety of habitats for alien creatures before selling them for huge profits. Players who are interested can sign up for the closed beta now.

Furthermore, THQ Nordic newest hunting simulator Way of the Hunter was given a brand new DLC. This expansion takes players to the African savannahs of the Tikamoon Plains and comes loaded with new animals to hunt, additional weapons, and difficulty modes. Way of the Hunter is available now for all platforms.

Finally, this showcase concluded with a look at the upcoming Gothic Remake which focused on a tour of the Valley of Mines area. However, my personal favorite announcement was the teaser for TMNT: The Last Ronin based on the graphic novel of the same name. No gameplay was shown but I couldn’t be more excited for this. All-in-all it was a great showcase with some exciting new titles, returning legacy games, and a good mix of gameplay and cinematics.

I've been playing games since I was a little kid. I have a soft spot for Nintendo titles and RPG's but play all kinds of titles across a variety of platforms. Outside of games I love to play music and practice martial arts. You can find me on Facebook and Instagram as well.
