Honkai Star Rail Finally Adds Kafka

The start of Version 1.2 of Honkai Star Rail introduced a load of new content. In addition to continuing the Xianzhou Luofu story and introducing a new boss, it also brought the mysterious Blade into the limelight and made him into a playable 5-star character. As popular as he was (and still is), it seems like everyone was waiting for the second phase of this update. The second phase has officially started and we can now play with his fellow Stellaron Hunter known as Kafka.

It’s an understatement to say she’s a popular character. As the one responsible for waking up the Trailblazer and inserting a Stellaron in them, she’s basically seen as the one responsible for the protagonist’s adventures and the events they experience. It helps that she’s the very first character you play in the tutorial too. There are also some…other reasons people like the character as well, which I’ll leave to your discretion.

In terms of gameplay, she’s a 5-star Lightning-type on the Path of Nihility. Her style revolves entirely around inflicting enemies with DoT (damage over time). This isn’t new, as there are quite a few characters who revolve around debuffs and DoT, but this style of gameplay is certainly becoming more popular now that she’s out. As strong as she is with any team you put her on, she shines the best with fellow debuff characters.

Joining her is also the character Luka. He’s a 4-star Physical-type on the Path of Nihility as well, and he’s on Kafka’s banner. He’s a lot easier to pull for and even if you don’t have interest in him, there’s a solid chance you’ll end up with multiple copies as you roll for Kafka. Both also work well with each other, making them a solid pairing and foundation for a DoT-focused team. I’m pretty happy just because they’re both shaking up the gameplay meta and providing players with new ways to play.
