Fortnite has made a name for itself (and a fortune) by collaborating with big brands and IPs. Last month we saw the juggernaut collaborate with Transformers for season 3 of chapter 4, a timely crossover with the recent Transformers: Rise of the Beasts film. As big as that is, a new update has arrived and it involves one of the most well-known animated comedy series. This update is bringing characters and items from Futurama.

Although it’s as surprising as any crossover, this is also another relevant one. The eighth season (and third revival) of Futurama just started earlier this week on Hulu. While the verdict of whether the new 20-episode season will match the beloved first run or hit the notes of the second run remains to be seen, fans can now play as some of their favorite characters and with a host of other related content.

Fry, Leela, and Bender have all been added to the shop. Each outfit comes with an alt style based on the character’s Universe 1 counterpart, as well as unique back bling and pickaxes. Additional accessories are also available in the item shop, with a Planet Express Ship Glider and a new emote called the Zoidberg Scuttle. A new-themed weapon is also available until the next update. Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun can be found or purchased from Bender in-game. It shoots plasma at an infinite rate, although it will overheat if fired too much.

Outside of the Futurama content, a new Mammoth Pistol is also available to be found across the entire island. Debuting with it is the Pistol Recycle Reality Augment. The Lever Action Shotgun and Scoped Salvo Reality Augment are also being un-vaulted. Players can play with all of this content now, or at least as soon as they update their game. A Fortnite news post goes over everything you need to know.

Samuel Moreno

Samuel (he/him) has been obsessed with video games since he was a kid watching bumbling zombies shuffle down a hallway in Resident Evil 20+ years ago (it's debatable if he should have seen a mature-rated game at that age but he's personally okay with it). His hobby of writing and talking people's ears off about video games has always felt like a perfect match. Feel free to let him talk your ear off on Twitter!: https://twitter.com/xxsammorenoxx
