I enjoy murdering on an industrial scale, which is a clause I am sure will be brought up when the trial of what happens to my neighbor for parking like a blind BMW driver comes up. Then again it is possible it will also come up at the end of the year when I talk about Showgunners again. I quite enjoyed the story of Scarlet doing her best Steve Austin impression from The Condemned. What I didn’t know of a fantastic game from this year was the upcoming DLC release, which was on a Saturday of all things.

Noticed while lazily looking over my Steam library, the Security Breach DLC news popped up with a pleasant surprise: “Experience a brand new chapter in Scarlett’s crusade against the Omega Corporation[,] which sheds more light on the company’s secrets and Phantom’s mysterious past.” Adding 5 new levels to fight the hive of scum and villainy that inhabits reality TV, you’ll stumble on new additions to your arsenal and a new foe to fight. With Barry Windham stuck in a tree, someone else has taken on The Stalker gimmick and has become a master of stealth.

On Security Breachthe community post states: “Venture into the heart of the Omega Tower, uncover the corporation’s best-kept secrets.” It continues with: “Meet an entirely new type of Defender in his surprise debut: the Stalker. This genetically engineered combatant is the ultimate predator and will never let you sleep soundly again. Strong and stealthy, he has the habit of disappearing into thin air and sneaking up on you when you least expect it.” Set in EvilCorp, many weapons may just be lying around (one for each character) so who knows who might pick them up?

Available now, the short and sweet (like Fuji apples) DLC of gameshow-based murder and fun is actually free. I was surprised by that too. As well as the Security Breach DLC being free, some patch notes are included overall. The update includes some things that fix crashes for Showgunners and some less immediate issues too. Personally, I am happy to see a game that I can’t get off my mind this year is giving me reasons to go back, even with a busy schedule.
