TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge Unveils New DLC

This week, the developers over at Tribute Games unveiled new details regarding the upcoming DLC for TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge in a gameplay showcase video. Dimension Shellshock will not only introduce the newest playable character Usagi Yojimbo but will also introduce a new Survival game mode. In this mode, players will travel through the multiverse of the Ninja Turtles universe and beyond.

In each stage, players will defeat hordes of enemies and collect special crystals which dictate your path through the multiverse. After clearing each stage you will have the option to upgrade your character from a pool of random options. Some of the potential upgrades include things such as extra lives, greater HP, or speed and damage buffs. Upon reaching certain crystal thresholds the challenge will increase in difficulty.

The newest character Usagi Yojimbo is a comic legend, created by Stan Sakai in 1984. In terms of gameplay, Usagi is the only character with a double jump. He also excels at air combos as well as area control using his fast sword attacks.

In addition to the rabbit samurai Usagi, Dimension Shellshock will allow players to morph into iconic boss characters such as Shredder, Beebop, and Rocksteady. On top of that, you can expect to face new enemy types and hazards that are exclusive to survival mode. Other new features include exclusive character skins and alternate outfit colors for characters like April, Casey Jones, and the rest of the roster.

In terms of exciting new dimensions, the survival mode gameplay trailer gave a glimpse of Edo period Japan, Omnichannel 6, a futuristic setting, as well as an 8-bit battleground. This stage is directly inspired by the original Turtles arcade games complete with retro soundtracks and graphics filters. The Dimension Shellshock DLC for TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge will release later this year. The base game is available for PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
