I love a good photography-based game. In fact, there are a few I still need to play (Pupperazzi included). One of the games on my to-play list is TOEM, a black-and-white photography-based adventure game created by the developer Something We Made. Now, Xbox players will get to enjoy TOEM for the first time, thanks to a new launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Game Pass.

After a successful release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch back in 2021, the developers won a BAFTA for Best Debut in 2022. Also, in 2022 they released an update that included a new region, secrets, and mini-games. TOEM is now available for purchase on Xbox, or you can play on PC and Xbox Game Pass if you are a subscriber.

Here is a little info on TOEM if you haven’t seen it before. “Set off on a delightful expedition and use your photographic eye to uncover the mysteries of the magical TOEM in this hand-drawn adventure game. Chat with quirky characters, solve their problems by snapping neat photos, and make your way through a relaxing landscape!

I hope we see more games like TOEM launching in the future. There’s something about cozy, quiet, relaxing games like TOEM that really hits the spot after a long and stressful week. Of course, sometimes I like to dungeon-delve and fight, but every now and then stopping to take pictures is a nice change of pace.

As previously stated, you can purchase TOEM now on PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and now Xbox consoles as well. Making TOEM available to more people can only be a good thing, so I hope people enjoy the Xbox release as much as people have enjoyed it on other platforms. Maybe now this will motivate me to give it a try and mark it off my backlog.
