New Retro Collections from Limited Run Games

This week, Limited Run Games unveiled an exciting suite of classic titles that will be receiving physical releases in the form of special collections. This announcement came during the team’s annual showcase. There are tons of exciting retro titles to go over so let’s not waste any time.

First up is the Castlevania: Advance Collection. Releasing on July 28th, this compilation will include four legendary games within the beloved Castlevania franchise including Circle of the Moon, Dracula X, Harmony of Dissonance, and Aria of Sorrow. Other highly notable titles include a remastered edition of Gargoyles based on the Disney cartoon series of the same name as well as two Jurassic Park games.

Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues were originally released on the NES, SNES, and the original Gameboy. Thus far, they have never received a physical release since. This new collection will be on sale starting September 1st.

However, that’s still not all. Limited Run also announced physical releases for Dungeons of Aether, the spinoff dungeon crawler set within the universe of platform fighter Rivals of Aether. This title will be available starting July 14th. Next came some announcements for revitalized classic titles developed using Limited Run’s Carbon Engine. These games include original PlayStation platformers such as Gex and Tomba! along with the survival horror series Clock Tower. Other games you can expect to receive future Limited Run releases are as follows:

In terms of gaming-adjacent projects, Limited Run will be offering a special release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game soundtracks. These will launch every month from July until March 2024. Buyers can expect to receive the soundtrack in a multitude of audio formats including Vinyl, CD, and even cassette tape. These are certainly a must-buy for lovers of classic Turtles arcade games.

Finally, the showcase ended with some announcements regarding upcoming games that will be published directly by Limited Run. These include Another Crusade, Double Shake, Arzette: the Jewel of Faramore, and Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties.
