Monday, nothing happened because we’re in that post-Faux3 come-down. Tuesday, RGG held a Yakuza showcase, Lies of P is getting a collab of some sort, and Cooking Sim 2 is getting multiplayer. Wednesday, the second round of Game Pass for June was revealed, and Monolith Soft’s Baten Kaitos franchise is getting a remaster. Thursday, Nintendo got their Faux3 on with a surprise direct announced the day before, and the gayest fighting game this side of Lily Savage’s Knock Out got its final character for season 1.
Moving on to the Epic Games Store this week and it is a bit of a double bill, mostly of tripe. We’ll start with Wulfgar’s “Legends of Renown” Pack for Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms, the free-to-play idle strategy game set in the Dungeons and Dragons universe. If I could write a sentence that I had even less interest in, it would probably be about an MMO baseball CRPG set in a cross-section of Final Fantasy and Zelda. If you’re a cretin, you too might value the Wulfgar pack at $100 like Epic.
The second offering isn’t too exciting either, as it is a repeat of something from late 2021, theHunter: Call of the Wild. As a vegan’s nightmare and part of this supposed American dream, you’ll make lots of yummy animals into a dead shape with a high-powered rifle from a quarter mile away. Conversely, you could play a more 2017-era game of Duck Hunt. I think most of us that wanted to pick up Expansive Worlds’ hunting title already have and very few will be left over, so it will feel like a bit of a letdown week at the house of Tim.
All this week you can pick up theHunter: Call of the Wild and Wulfgar’s “Legends of Renown Pack” for Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms until the morning of the 29th of June. For the latter, you have to log in and register to claim it before the 29th. Moving on to next week and it will be another one of those games trying to do comedy in a fantasy setting, so you know there is a dim-witted large-breasted blonde that is the butt of several jokes. Yes, it is Artefacts Studio’s The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk, ahead of their Dungeon-Keeper-like sequel coming later this year.
