Atlas Fallen: New Gameplay Details Revealed

Atlas Fallen is a game that I’ve been optimistic about from the initial reveal at Gamescom, despite the overall lack of gameplay. Fortunately, the developers at Deck 13 have finally released some quality gameplay footage which has provided a lot of new insight into the upcoming Action-RPG.

This new gameplay trailer features a heavy story focus. Atlas Fallen takes place in a world ravaged by the sun god Thelos, who now forces the inhabitants to mine endlessly for the magical substance essence. You take on the role of a nameless hero who finds themselves in possession of a magical gauntlet that can morph into various weapons. The principal three are a large axe, bladed whip, and clawed armored fist. As you advance throughout the story and explore the desert landscape you can gather various essence stones which can be mixed and matched to customize your combos and create unique builds.

Atlas Fallen boasts over 1oo of these stones, giving players access to an impressive array of options. In addition, the game will also feature a drop-in cooperative mode throughout the entirety of the story allowing you to play through the entire game with a friend. Boss battles place a heavy emphasis on the spectacle of the fight and will force you to target specific weak points in order to succeed. The trailer also showcased a nice variety of enemies and hinted that building combos will be the centerpiece of combat.

In addition to this new trailer, Deck 13 also announced the Atlas Fallen Limited Edition, which is available now for pre-order. This version will feature the base game along with the first DLC pack called Ruin Rising, an official steelbook case, and a metal poster. According to the press release, the Ruin Rising DLC will contain mainly cosmetics items as well as a few exclusive essence stones that will unlock additional combat options. Atlas Fallen will be releasing on August 10th for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
