The last two weeks of May saw eight games added to the Xbox Game Pass platform. Although we’re still in the same month, it’s now time to go over what’s coming in the first wave for June. It includes nine games and a handful of day-one releases.
It all starts with the day one release of Farworld Pioneers on console and PC. This open-world side-scroller allows players to venture into the unknown depths of the galaxy as they craft, build, and mine for resources across different planets. The experience doesn’t have to be solely single-player either, as the multiplayer servers can hold up to 32 players.
The next three games are being added on June 1st. Coming to cloud, console, and PC is Car Mechanic Simulator 2021. Starting off as the new owner of a car garage, you’ll need to work your way up until you’re at the head of an empire. Over 72 cars and over 4000 unique parts can be interacted with as you salvage cars from auctions and clean them up until they shine.
That same day will see The Big Con on cloud, console, and PC. In an effort to save her family’s video store, Ali treks across the United States as she looks to con and grift as many people as she can along the way. All of this takes place in a visual and audio tribute to the 1990s.
If you’re looking for something else that reminds you of the era, you might want to check out Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengance of the Slayer for cloud, console, and PC. Inspired by Doom and similar first-person shooters of the time, it’s all up to the latest X Slayer to save the Earth in this tongue-in-cheek edgy adventure.
June 6th will see Amnesia: The Bunker added as a day-one release. After being recently delayed, this addition is certainly a surprising one. Players will have to face unknown horrors inside a WW1 bunker that might not be as empty as it seems. Randomized elements ensure that no playthrough is ever quite the same.
Accompanying it is Hypnospace Outlaw on cloud, console, and PC. Longtime subscribers might recognize this title since it used to be available until it was taken out back in February 2022. Acting like an internet simulator of all the most bizarre elements of the 90’s internet, you’ll be tasked with enforcing the internet law.
The next couple of games are coming out on June 8th. First is Rune Factory 4 Special for cloud, console, and PC. This entry into the popular fantasy RPG series was originally released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2012, but an updated edition was released in 2020. Players will be able to farm and craft to their heart’s content, as well as explore nearby dungeons. Alexx’s review of the Switch version can be read here.
Double Fine Productions’ Stacking will also be joining for cloud and console. This unique world is inhabited by living Russian stacking dolls. The player will need to use their different abilities and various sizes to solve numerous puzzles.
Dordogne is the final game for this wave and another day-one release, coming out on June 13th for cloud, console, and PC. Utilizing unique watercolor visuals, supported by a summer-oriented color palette, Mimi will recall specific memories from her family’s past as she tries to uncover some family secrets.
As always, a handful of games will be leaving. Players have until June 15th to check out the following titles: Bridge Constructor Portal, Chorus, Maneater, Mortal Shell, Serious Sam 4, and Total War: Three Kingdoms.
