Warhammer 40K Warpforge Demo Available Now

As a card game addict and fan of the ridiculous sci-fi setting of Warhammer 40K, I’ve been looking forward to the upcoming Warhammer 40K Warpforge for some time now. Though there have been many Warhammer-related card games in the past, this one promises to be the largest and most well-supported title. Warpforge is being handled by the same development team behind Horus Heresy: Legions.

Warpforge’s main difference from Legions is that it focuses on all of the major factions found within the 40K universe rather than simply the Imperium of Man. At this week’s Games Workshop showcase, the company announced that the Tyranid faction will be joining the roster alongside Necrons and Orks. As one of my personal favorites, the Tyranids are a race of aliens who infect and destroy all life on various planets across the galaxy in order to feed their insatiable hunger. Their mechanics in-game are often built around overwhelming opponents with superior numbers so no doubt they will be one of the premier factions for aggressive strategies.

This event also featured the announcement of a new playable demo for the game that will available from May 25th to June 1st. This demo will allow you to take command of six playable factions available at launch. Players who take part in the demo will then be eligible to participate in an upcoming closed Alpha that begins on June 8th.

You can pre-register for this alpha and provide direct feedback to the developers on the Warpforge official website. It should be noted that your player data and progress within this alpha cannot be carried over to the full game. However, you are eligible to receive an exclusive card at launch. Warhammer 40K: Warpforge will launch in 2023 on Steam exclusively with other platform support following the initial launch.
