Fans of Guilty Gear Strive have seen a lot of updates come through over the past few months. We saw the player base open up with a release on the Xbox platforms as well as the Xbox Game Pass service in March. One month later and Bedman?, a technically new but also somewhat familiar character to those that played Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign-, was added for the second season. Bedman? was initially revealed during this year’s Arc World Tour Finals along with a hint for the final DLC character for the second season as well as the announcement for an upcoming third season of content.

It’s still a bit too early to learn about that next set of DLC, but the last week revealed a lot about who is ending the current season. As everyone expected, it’s the antagonist Asuka R. Kreutz, who was commonly called That Man. Well, at least it’s some sort of playable version of him. The fighter’s name is specifically “Asuka R#” and his design is a bit different, so it remains to be seen if this is the exact same character or the result of some crazy story shenanigans.

Asuka R# has a lot of unique tools at his disposal. First and foremost is his Mana system, which is represented by a separate gauge. Having mana provides him access to a variety of unique spells and increased defenses. He’s certainly one of the more advanced characters added so far if not the most, so it’s highly recommended to watch the starter guide below.

If he still sounds like a fun character, you can begin playing him starting today. There still isn’t any news about the third season, but there’s a good chance it will be announced at this year’s EVO championship. We’ll be keeping an eye out for any future updates.

Samuel (he/him) has been obsessed with video games since he was a kid watching bumbling zombies shuffle down a hallway in Resident Evil 20+ years ago (it's debatable if he should have seen a mature-rated game at that age but he's personally okay with it). His hobby of writing and talking people's ears off about video games has always felt like a perfect match. Feel free to let him talk your ear off on Twitter!: https://twitter.com/xxsammorenoxx
