Fall Guys has had an interesting time over the last year. While the game is still successful, has some fun collaborations, and still has thousands of daily players, a vocal part of the community has felt less than supportive. This is mainly due to various persistent bugs and the vaulting of many rounds, leading to a less varied experience. The latest season for the free-to-play title is looking to shake things up quite a lot though.

Season 4 (titled Creative Construction) launched yesterday. After a space theme and an underwater theme, this one is all about the new level editor called “Fall Guys Creative”. Players now have the power to create their own rounds and then share them to play with others. It’s currently limited to only race rounds and they can only be shared with a 16-digit code, but there are plans to update this in the future. The editor provides access to everyone’s favorite obstacles and allows them to be rotated and scaled to anyone’s preference. Player-made rounds will eventually also have a chance to be a featured live show pick on the show selector.

In addition to the level creator, new rounds made by developer Mediatonic will be released throughout the season. There will be 50 rounds in total and 20 of them are already available. The season pass is also being split into smaller “fame passes” that cost fewer showbucks, with the first one including a couple of Hello Kitty-themed costumes among other goodies. Fame passes are expected to last between 4-7 weeks each and feature a track of 40 core rewards.

Only time will tell if these changes will be positively received by the community at large. Initial creator levels likely won’t meet the standards that players expect and the shorter fame passes might not seem very fair depending on how long it takes to work through each track. At the very least, it’s certainly an exciting time to jump back in and see what’s new. A more detailed breakdown of everything can be seen on the official Fall Guys website.

Samuel (he/him) has been obsessed with video games since he was a kid watching bumbling zombies shuffle down a hallway in Resident Evil 20+ years ago (it's debatable if he should have seen a mature-rated game at that age but he's personally okay with it). His hobby of writing and talking people's ears off about video games has always felt like a perfect match. Feel free to let him talk your ear off on Twitter!: https://twitter.com/xxsammorenoxx
