This month PlayStation Plus members will have a lot of exciting new releases to enjoy in terms of gaming. All of the following titles will be available to subscribers as of  Tuesday, April 18th. First up is Kena: Bridge of Spirits the charming adventure game from developer Ember Lab.

In this title, you take on the role of the Spirit Guide, Kena. As Kena, you will be gradually amassing an army of spirits and spells on your quest to an abandoned mountain shrine. The game was positively received by critics and audiences alike and has been high on my to-play list since it launched on Steam.

If you’re looking for something a little more intense, then you can look forward to Doom: Eternal. The sequel to the much beloved 2016 Doom reboot, Doom: Eternal places you back into the shoes of the Demon-killing Doomslayer for another gore-filled FPS adventure. If that’s not enough, you can also look forward to Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus for some more shooter action. Additionally, the prequel spinoff to the first Wolfenstein game Wolfenstein: The Old Blood will also be available.

In a similar vein, subscribers can also immerse themselves in The Evil Within which will also be joining the April lineup. Developed by Tango Gameworks and directed by Shinji Mikami the man behind Resident Evil, The Evil Within delivers the definitive survival horror experience.

For Tony Hawk Pro Skater fans, you can jump into the Multiplayer sandbox game Riders Republic. This game is the ultimate extreme sports playground allowing you to compete against others in various challenges using bikes, snowboards, skis, and wingsuits. Also within the virtual sports realm is Bassmaster Fishing developed by Dovetail Games.

The final few titles offer a large mix of genres. Most noteworthy for me are the beloved Deckbuilding Roguelike Slay the Spire and the wholesome Action Platformer Monster Boy and The Cursed Kingdom. Finally, regular subscribers can also look foreword to the intriguing Indie mystery title Paradise Killer as well as the 2020 spinoff of LittleBigPlanet, Sackboy: A Big Adventure. However, premium subscribers will also have access to some classic gaming titles. This includes the rest of the classic Doom series and Dishonored: Definitive Edition.

In terms of titles leaving Playstation Plus, this month will be the last chance for subscribers to play Marvel’s Spider-Man, Resident Evil, and NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 amongst other things. Overall while still not quite as expansive as Xbox Game Pass, I’d say this month’s offerings for PlayStation are heading in the right direction with a solid mix of genres and titles.

I've been playing games since I was a little kid. I have a soft spot for Nintendo titles and RPG's but play all kinds of titles across a variety of platforms. Outside of games I love to play music and practice martial arts. You can find me on Facebook and Instagram as well.
