March ended with two new games added to the Xbox Game Pass library and now we’re set to begin April with five more games, one of which is a day-one release. Let’s look over the new games that will be added across the next two weeks.

Starting us off and available now is Loop Hero for console and PC. This roguelike features a constantly looping world where you send out a hero onto a procedurally generated expedition and provide them obstacles by using various cards to place enemies and terrain. If you’d like to read more about it, Keiran wrote a review on it here.

Coming next on April 6th is Iron Brigade for cloud and console. This 2011 Double Fine Productions game puts you in control of a large “mobile trench” as you fight against waves of Monovision monsters. The gameplay is a unique mix of shooters and tower defense.

As reported a couple of weeks ago, April 12th will see Ghostwire: Tokyo make the jump to Xbox and the Xbox Game Pass service. It will be coming to the cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. In addition to the full game being added, this will also coincide with the Spider’s Thread update which is adding a new mode and plenty of improvements to the main campaign.

April 13th will see NHL 23 added to console through EA Play. The latest iteration in the ice hockey franchise has added a lot of new animations, crossplay across same-generation consoles, and new mechanics such as the Last Chance Puck Movement. For a deeper look, check out Taylor’s review here.

The final game being added is the day-one release of Minecraft Legends on April 18th. Presented as an action-strategy game, it follows a hero that brings multiple mobs together to defend against invading Piglins from the Nether. Players can team up with their friends or compete against each other in multiplayer modes.

As is customary, some games will be leaving the library. Players have until April 15th to check out the following: Life is Strange: True Colors, Moonglow Bay, Panzer Corps II, Rainbow Six Extraction, The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk, The Long Dark, and The Riftbreaker.

Samuel (he/him) has been obsessed with video games since he was a kid watching bumbling zombies shuffle down a hallway in Resident Evil 20+ years ago (it's debatable if he should have seen a mature-rated game at that age but he's personally okay with it). His hobby of writing and talking people's ears off about video games has always felt like a perfect match. Feel free to let him talk your ear off on Twitter!: https://twitter.com/xxsammorenoxx
