Sifu Arenas Mode Announced in Free Update

One of last year’s greatest joys was the merciless kung-fu action-adventure game Sifu. In a series of updates and ports to other consoles, the game has continued to grow its audience. That’s a good thing in any situation, but particularly with a highly stylized game like this that needed to be on everyone’s GOTY shortlist in 2022. A new update to Sifu brings a brand new expanded mode that is sure to get players who haven’t touched it in awhile to pick it back up. Here’s what you can expect to find in the latest update.

Developer Sloclap announced today that a new expansion to the game is arriving for consoles and PC. Arenas Mode is a new experience that allows you to test your skills as a kung-fu master. Across 45 challenges, players are pushed to the limit to see how much they can accomplish in some of the most grueling situations and setups. They’ll test your limits, (the developer promises) as well as your patience if you’re not focused and careful.

The challenges take place over nine dynamic locations that are unique to the game mode. That’s right, these aren’t just reskinned versions of the main game’s maps. Sloclap believes completing these will take about 10 hours or so, which is a nice little content boost for no additional cost. The update also brings new outfits, achievements, quality of life improvements, and Chinese Cantonese voice-over. If the Arenas Mode challenges are too tough, you can even train too.

New lessons in the training room will help you gear up for the new content. Additionally, Arenas Mode and the main game now have improved AI that will help make the game feel smoother and more challenging when necessary.
