We previously had a reveal for the second season of Gundam Evolution a couple of weeks before the update went live. Luckily for season three, the turnaround is much quicker. A livestream took place on January 29th, detailing everything players can expect when the third season goes live on February 1st.

The new season is called “Defencer” and is headlined by the Hyperion Gundam. Quite the unorthodox pick, this unit hails from the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED X Astray manga, a sequel to another story that acts as a spin-off from the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED series. Aside from its beam-piercing second skill, much of its abilities revolve around defense.

A shield can be brought up while attacking with a beam submachine gun while its Armure Lumiere skill activates a temporary one-way barrier. The Armure Lumiere Lancer G Maneuver meanwhile is a charge that pins and damages all enemies it makes contact with.

Coming along with the start of the new season are a couple of campaign events. A daily log-in campaign for Supply Pod Tickets is taking place over the first week and a weekly log-in campaign for Material Points will take place for the first month. Balance adjustments are also being applied to a number of units as well, which can all be read about in this Gundam Evolution blog post.

Something special that the community can look forward to is a series of major updates collectively called “Hyper Update” that start with this new season. Taking place over the next three months, a variety of yet-to-be-announced events are being planned and an extra unit will be added for the second half of the season in March. They will return to the typical schedule of one new unit every two-month season afterward, but fans can enjoy this slight deviation of three units coming out monthly.
