5 Characters Dreamlight Valley Should Add

One of the biggest delights I’ve had all year has been Dreamlight Valley. As someone who has grown up with Disney films my entire life, this game just hits so many nostalgic notes for me. With the game’s early access period well underway, I have a short list of characters that I’d love to see in the game sometime soon. Here are 5 characters Dreamlight Valley should add in 2023.

Mushu –

Mushu is one of my favorite characters from Mulan. Aside from Mulan herself, I think it would be great to see Mushu hanging around Dreamlight Valley. I could see Mushu being added (along with Mulan herself?) in February, somewhere along the lines of the Lunar New Year. Wouldn’t it be great to share mooncakes with Mushu and Mulan? Mushu’s Congee is already in the game, but it would be great to see more Chinese dishes like Bao added to the game.

Maleficent –

I think I speak for everyone when I say that of all the Disney villains, I am most excited for Maleficent. We’ve already seen some Maleficent-adjacent clothing and decoration items but having the dark fairy herself would be absolutely wonderful. Considering magic is at the heart of Dreamlight Valley, it would make sense for Maleficent to make herself known. Perhaps she could teach us to extinguish the green flames in the Forgotten Lands?

Tinker Bell –

Speaking of Faeries, Tinker Bell is just an obvious choice here, isn’t she? I mean sure, Peter Pan is cool and all, but he’d just be a dude with a dagger without Tinker Bell and her pixie dust. I think we all know who the real star of the show is in that regard. You can get shirts in-game with Tinker Bell on them, so why not let us hang around with her too? I’d wear her merch while taking selfies with my best pixie pal.

Kronk –

Anyone that knows me knows I’m a huge fan of The Emperor’s New Groove. While I could talk all day about wanting the entire cast of the film in Dreamlight Valley, Kronk makes the most sense. Remy could have a friend helping him in the kitchen, we could have a buddy hanging around and talking to the squirrels, what’s not to like? We’d just need to make sure we keep Kronk away from levers, maybe he’d teach us to talk to the critters in the valley though?

Hercules –

Like the request for Mushu, Hercules’ inclusion here just makes sense. I’d love to see Greek dishes added to the menu at Remy’s, but more than that I just love all the characters from Hercules. Having Herc and Megara around would be fun, and maybe we’d have someone around who could deflate Maui’s ego a little bit. Plus, having decorations like Greek pillars and possible Underworld aesthetics (because Hades would tag along) sounds awesome, doesn’t it?

These are just a few of the many Disney characters that I would love to see join Dreamlight Valley’s roster. While the game itself still has some issues, the developers at Gameloft have made a perfect template to bring in all manner of characters and ideas.
