Arcade Paradise Gets First Licensed Arcade Cabinet DLC

Arcade Paradise is easily one of the most fun indie games I played in 2022. Since it was released, the developers have been supporting the game with new music and arcade cabinet DLCs. Yesterday, developer Nosebleed Interactive announced a new collaboration with Hello There Games, in the form of a new arcade cabinet.

Kung Fury: Street Rage is the first fully-playable, licensed game to be created for Arcade Paradise by an outside developer. This joins the roster of over 35 original creations by Nosebleed Interactive that are fully playable in Arcade Paradise. Here is what the press release has to say about the new expansion DLC.

“Already a cult hit with score-chasing gamers, Kung Fury: Street Rage marks the very first fully licensed and playable game to be brought into the world of Arcade Paradise and sits alongside over 35 existing, original games created by Nosebleed Interactive.

It’s 1985 and the violence is raging in the streets of Miami, it’s gonna take the toughest martial artist cop and 3 hard as nails enforcers from across space AND time to clean them up!”

Players will be able to choose from 4 fighters, each with their own unique playstyles, and will be able to fight waves of enemies with two-button arcade action. Additionally, the DLC comes with new goals, objectives, and leaderboards in Arcade Paradise itself. Kung Fury also comes with a soundtrack provided by Swedish “electro sensations” Mitch Murder and Joel Eriksson.

The Kung Fury: Street Rage DLC is available now on Steam. However, it will release to PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch consoles on January 12^th, 2023. It is great to see a game that is so full of content and yet still gets attention and love from developers. It is also really interesting to see another developer reach out and want to contribute to it in such a way.

Arcade Paradise is the perfect platform for small games like this. I wonder if we’ll see more games try to become a hub for retro-inspired arcade games like this. Either way, if you haven’t checked Arcade Paradise out yet now is a great time to do so.
