Who doesn’t love The Smurfs? Well, I’m sure a lot of people, but after growing up with them, I’m always excited to see them in games, movies, and more. Now, it seems like my Nintendo Switch will get another bit of Smurf love, now that Smurf Kart is available on the platform.

Thanks to IMPS, the license holder for The Smurfs, and Microids, Smurfs Kart is now available on Switch. The game contains 12 Smurf characters, 12 tracks to race on, and options for split-screen local multiplayer as well as solo gameplay. Here is what the press release has to say about the release.

Publisher Microids and IMPS, the Smurfs license holder, are thrilled to celebrate the release of Smurfs Kart with an explosive launch trailer. Developed by Eden Games and well-known for their iconic racing games (Gear.Club Unlimited, Test Drive Unlimited, V-Rally), Smurfs Kart is available today on Nintendo Switch.

It’s time to make engines roar. Choose a Smurf with their individual kart and unique superpower, and get ready for some frantic races with the whole family!

Want to be the fastest Smurf in the village? Get a head start, take shortcuts, master the Smurf’s superpowers, and use bonuses to rise in the rankings. Alone or with others, new beginner, or experienced driver… Everyone can win the Smurf place and drive wild races with friends and family!”

Considering that 2023 is the 65th anniversary of The Smurf’s debut, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see more games for our little blue friends being developed over the next year and beyond. The Smurfs began its life as a Belgian comic, before branching out into a full multimedia franchise. It’s a Smurf’s world really, and we’re just living in it. You can play Smurfs Kart on Switch now.
