Cult of the Lamb is the perfect sort of game to play this week. A little on the spooky side, but so cute your teeth might fall out. It is a good balance of sugary sweet and spooky, perfect for Halloween. It seems developer Massive Monsters agrees and has created a new update with some limited-time holiday content.

Here is what the press release has to say about the limited-time Blood Festival event. “Rejoice, disciples of the Lamb! Loyal followers can celebrate the spooky season in style in Cult of the Lamb’s Blood Moon Festival, a new limited-time event starting today.

Under the light of the Blood Moon, devotees can harvest pumpkins to unlock a brand new ritual that will raise former members of their cult, casting them back to the land of the living as wandering spirits. New follower forms and dreadful decorations will be granted upon their capture, but be quick about it, the Blood Moon will wane on November 10th.

Included in this event/update are 3 new follower forms, 4 new base decorations, a music track, and the aforementioned blood moon ritual. There’s not much time to play through and get all the content, just a little over 2 weeks. However, for folks who have been playing Cult of the Lamb hard and heavy since launch, this should be plenty of time.

I love when devs of single-player games include content like this. The developers of Ooblets have had a Halloween event going on all month, so seeing Massive Monsters do the same thing is cool. If you haven’t played Cult of the Lamb yet, it is available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Consoles. This is the perfect game for the spooky season, (and Fall too) so don’t pass it up!
