It’s been over two years since Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time was originally released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It would then take about six months before we saw it release to many more platforms including current-generation consoles, the Nintendo Switch, and PC. An important caveat of that final bit is that it’s only been available on PC through the Battle.net platform. This and every Call of Duty game released since Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 have been the select Activision titles exclusive to Battle.net.

Today marks a change, however, with a new avenue to play through it and one that many have been waiting for. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is officially available today for PC through the Steam platform. Considering that Steam has a much larger user base than Battle.net, this is a great chance for even more people to finally try it out. This latest entry also ignores most of the series and serves as a follow-up to the original games trilogy. Many are likely to enjoy owning Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, their remakes of those games, on the same PC platform.

All of this news began when influencers received a marketing package from Activision. Canadian Guy Eh, who regularly creates videos around the Crash Bandicoot series among other platformers, was one such person who received it and pieced together the obvious message that a Steam release was set for October 18th. It only took a few days before the Steam page went up and for their social media pages confirmed it.

Just as exciting is the hint of something new that many fans are assuming will be the official announcement for the long-rumored “Wumpa League” project that has seemingly been teased for nearly two years through marketing packages and in-game clues. If the not-so-subtle hint is being read right, we’ll hear about it at The Game Awards this December.

Samuel Moreno

Samuel (he/him) has been obsessed with video games since he was a kid watching bumbling zombies shuffle down a hallway in Resident Evil 20+ years ago (it's debatable if he should have seen a mature-rated game at that age but he's personally okay with it). His hobby of writing and talking people's ears off about video games has always felt like a perfect match. Feel free to let him talk your ear off on Twitter!: https://twitter.com/xxsammorenoxx
