I am a big fan of Neon Abyss. Veewo Games’ Action Roguelike is a lot of fun, but the Nintendo Switch version had a major problem. Till now, the Neon Abyss console versions were miles behind the Steam version in terms of content. However, a new free update is bringing the console versions and the PC version together.

The “Cornucopia Update” for Neon Abyss is free for all platforms and brings the console versions together with the PC version in terms of content. Additionally, it adds a bit of content for PC users as well. Here is a snippet of the press release about what the update contains.

“The Cornucopia Update for Neon Abyss, bringing PlayStation®4, Xbox One, Windows 10, and Nintendo Switch™ versions of the game with parity to the Steam version of the game. The update features five new bosses to overcome, nine additional levels, seven new weapons, and over 60 brand new items to collect through the neon rooms and corridors of the underworld.”

In addition to the new update, the console versions will also be able to get ahold of The Chrono Trap DLC for free until August 30th. The Chrono Trap DLC contains a new boss (Titan) as well as an endless mode. This is a lot of content coming to console players all at once, and I am very excited. If anything, I hope this encourages console players to circle back to Neon Abyss after so long with no content.

I won’t go into a lot of details, since I already reviewed the game and gushed about it. However, I do think that if people give it a chance, Neon Abyss has the makings of a great Roguelike experience wrapped up in a cyberpunk aesthetic.
