Seafaring Roguelite Ship of Fools Coming in November

Survival at sea is a common gaming theme lately. Games like Subnautica, Raft, and other such games task you with surviving the terrors of the deep. Now, Fika Productions and Team17 are bringing a cute seafaring Roguelite to the party for you to play alone or with a friend.

Ship of Fools (barring any delays) is set to release on November 22^nd, 2022 for PC and consoles. It will be playable either single-player or in two-player co-op. According to Steam, though it is unconfirmed elsewhere, Ship of Fools will be available for both shared/split screen and online co-op play.

Here is what the press release has to say about Ship of Fools. “Set among the islands and outcrops of the Archipelago, Ship of Fools follows a group of plucky sailors – The Fools – as they set out across the choppy waters of their watery world, combat creatures from the deep, and attempt to thwart The Everlasting Storm and the Aquapocalypse!

“Along the way, the Fools will have to work together and master the cannons, repair their ship – Stormstrider – from damage caused by monstrous boarding parties and missile lobbing leviathans, and tread an unlikely path to victory!

“Disembarking on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, Ship of Fools and its cast of characters – each with their own special abilities to help steer the crew to success – will encounter varied roguelite runs through the Archipelago. Each time they start a new voyage they’ll find something new to experience, whether that’s some of the 100+ unique trinkets to find and collect (and to combine as part of a winning strategy) or strange new islands to explore.”

Ship of Fools looks incredibly cute. I love the art design, and the concept seems really fun. Hopefully, we’ll learn more about the game as we get closer to launch too. I’m always looking for new co-op games and fun Roguelites to try out, so this definitely fits the bill.
