I’ve been taking a fairly lengthy hiatus from World of Warcraft for most of the past few months. Even so, I’ve still been popping into Azeroth whenever the mood strikes for some good, old-fashioned PVP as I recently discussed in this article. Now, it seems Blizzard has given players who consider themselves “on break” (such as myself) a reason to come back to the game, at least for a time.

If the phrase “Winds of Wisdom” means as much to you as it does to me, I’ve got a feeling the news I’m here to report today might excite you. That’s especially true if you don’t have as many max-level characters as you’d like. In case you need a refresher, Winds of Wisdom (at least in its current incarnation) is a character buff available to everyone between levels 10 and 59 that increases experience gained from all sources by 50%.

Some among our audience may remember Winds of Wisdom as the experience buff Blizzard made available to all characters for quite a while in early 2020 when the dastardly COVID-19 pandemic first reared its ugly head. As Blizzard confirmed in a recent news post, they’re bringing that buff back for a couple of weeks to help players prepare for the upcoming Season 4 of the Shadowlands expansion. This also extends to preparation for Dragonflight, which is reportedly still on track to release sometime this year.

However, the buff won’t stick around for long, so you’d better act fast if you want to take advantage of it. Winds of Wisdom is active for characters that are at least level 10 as of yesterday (July 19th, 2022) and will remain in effect until Tuesday, August 2nd, 2022, which is when Shadowlands Season 4 is scheduled to begin. Now then, if you’ll excuse me, I have to at least try to get one more character to level 60 before the buff expires.
