Previously only a Nintendo Switch exclusive, fans of the No More Heroes game series will get a chance to experience the newest iteration across multiple platforms soon enough. According to a press release from London, No More Heroes 3 will be available on Playstation 4/5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on October 14th. The PC version of the game will launch on Steam a few days earlier on October 11th.

Originally released in 2021, No more Heroes 3 marked the continuation of a franchise many believed to be forgotten since the previous title was released eleven years prior. This third entry allows players to step into the shoes of the wisecracking, goofball hero, Travis Touchdown on more absurd adventures to become the world’s best assassin in order to buy more video games.

In No More Heroes 3, Travis is faced with defending his hometown from an alien invasion. While receiving mostly positive critical reception from fans, No More Heroes 3 was criticized by outlets such as IGN for “feeling like a game from 2003” and failing to truly exceed the mechanics explored through the earlier entries.

This will be the first time the No More Heroes series has ventured off Nintendo consoles and onto other platforms, excluding the spinoff title, Travis Strikes Again which was released in 2019. This is some encouraging news, as I find the series to be one of the more unique titles Nintendo has ever published. As an added bonus for purchasing the physical copy of the game, both the PlayStation and Xbox versions will come also come with some exclusive artwork and new box art.

Series artist Yusuke Kozaki created three custom art cards and a double-sided poster to accompany the release. In true series fashion, the new box art pays homage to the legendary anime film Akira, referencing Travis’ obsession with Japanese media. I’ve never had the chance to play through the franchise myself. However, I have heard a lot of positive reviews for the series over the years. There is no doubt that making the franchise more available will only serve to increase its popularity and bring in new fans.

I've been playing games since I was a little kid. I have a soft spot for Nintendo titles and RPG's but play all kinds of titles across a variety of platforms. Outside of games I love to play music and practice martial arts. You can find me on Facebook and Instagram as well.
