We’ve seen Sony dip their toes into gamer hardware before, but it’s always been tied within their PlayStation ecosystem. With more first-party PlayStation titles coming to PC it only made sense that we might eventually see them unveil something hardware related. They do have quite a history in audio products and TVs after all.
We now know that they are expanding with their recently unveiled INZONE gaming brand line. While this all-new brand is distinct and separate from the PlayStation brand, all three of the new headsets as well as the two gaming monitors will work with a PlayStation 5 console and will match the aesthetic as well.
First is their set of new headsets which are all designed with comfort in mind thanks to cushioned material and ergonomically designed controls. Each of them uses the new 360 Spatial Sound for Gaming technology that promises to make it even easier to detect enemies and rivals. They can also be paired with the 360 Spatial Sound Personalizer smartphone app that can take a photo of your ear and generate an optimal spatial sound profile.
Starting off this trio is the INZONE H3 at $99.99. It’s the only wired headset of the bunch and it comes with a unidirectional boom. Next is the INZONE H7 at $229.99. Not only does it upgrade to a bidirectional boom, but it’s also wireless with a 40-hour charge. Last but certainly not least is the INZONE H9 at $299.99. The highlight of this headset is the Noise Cancelling function that’s commonly found in the 1000x series of headphones from Sony.
Accompanying the headsets are the new monitors, which are labeled INZONE M3 and INZONE M9 respectively. Both are 27″ panels that are NVIDIA(R) G-SYNC(R) compatible, come with a variety of port options including HDMI 2.1 VRR, and have a 1ms GtG response time.
The INZONE M3 runs at full HD with a 240Hz refresh rate and will be available for $529.99. The INZONE M9 meanwhile runs at 4K with a 144Hz refresh rate, is supported by Full Array Local Dimming (FALD) technology, and will be available for $899.99. FALD utilizes direct backlight LEDs to provide a dynamic contrast ratio of 80,000:1 and is their attempt to leverage the benefits of VA and IPS panels without their known drawbacks.

In addition to various videos and reviews having already gone live about the products, Sony has also revealed official partnerships as well. Sony INZONE headsets will be the official headset partner of the Valorant Champions Tour, while both the monitors and the headsets will be the official monitor and headset for the Evolution Championship Series (EVO) for both this year and 2023. Considering that Sony jointly acquired EVO last year and that each game in its lineup will be played on PlayStation 4, it’s not too much of a surprise.
It’s been a long time coming for Sony to dive into this market that’s shared between their console audience and PC users. Time will tell how the brand will fare, though pushing it at the forefront of major eSports events seems like a smart move. If you’d like to see a more in-depth explanation from Sony themselves, you can watch a showcase that goes over each of the products below.
