Today’s the day folks! Fans of Final Fantasy VII have been speculating about what we might see from the 25th-anniversary celebration for a while. Tetsuya Nomura mentioned during the Final Fantasy Remake’s development that the time between each Remake game wouldn’t be as long as we’d expect. As such, many of us thought that we might see new information for this celebration. Were we correct? Well, let’s see what we’ve got today.

The celebration opened with a montage that covered the entire Final Fantasy VII compilation. This led to an announcement that Final Fantasy VII Remake: Intergrade will be available on Steam starting today. Yoshinori Kitase then introduced the program and revealed that the Steam version will be compatible with the Steam Deck.

We then transitioned into a segment discussing Merchandising and Music for the 25th anniversary. You can now pre-order a digital clock designed to look like the Buster Sword. There are also new Play Arts Kai figures ready for pre-order, such as Roche (with or without his bike) as well as Shinra soldiers. Static Arts is also releasing a statue of Cloud. Accessories are also available for pre-order, such as bracelets in various designs.

The Final Fantasy VII Compilation Vinyl will release on August 11th, 2022. There is also a new “arrangement CD” planned, as well as 25th-anniversary playlists for streaming platforms such as Spotify. There is also a campaign going around on official Final Fantasy VII social media channels, so if you’re interested in that, go check em out.

Next up came a segment discussing the Final Fantasy VII mobile games. Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier is going into its 3rd season, with a new map called Midgar Plateside. Now you’ll be able to join the battle royale above the plate, fighting in the streets of Midgar.

You can also fight with the new Serpent Launcher, which seems to be a rocket launcher. There is also a new Water-elemental materia for use in combat. They also announced a new style called the Machinist, which fights with a hammer. Season 3 is playable now, and there will be an announcement for a North American tournament coming later in the Summer.

After that, we got more footage and details on Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis. The trailer seems to show that this will be more than just a mobile version of the plot of the entire compilation. If anything, this might be another remake concept altogether with another diverging path for our characters. It will have a closed beta test in 2022 for iOS and Android devices. This trailer got me even more intrigued and excited for Ever Crisis. I’m not normally a mobile fan, but I am intrigued.

The next announcement was a major surprise. We’re getting a remake of Crisis Core! Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion was announced, coming this winter to PlayStation, Switch, PC, and Xbox consoles. I am so excited! I haven’t played Crisis Core since its original release. I’m curious to see if they deviate from the formula at all to coincide with the remake, or if they keep the story the same.

Last but most certainly not least, the final announcement was just as exciting. Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth is the next part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake, and the new footage they showed has all kinds of implications for the plot. Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth will release next Winter for PlayStation 5. We don’t know much yet, but there’s a lot of time for Square Enix to show us more information about the game.

This announcement came with the reveal that the Final Fantasy VII Remake will take place over three parts. Rebirth is the second installment, and there will be a third and final installment still yet to come. With that bit of information out of the way, the showcase came to a close. I cannot even describe how blown away I am by what we saw. I assumed it would just be merch and mobile info, but they delivered so much more.
