Sony started off the E3-like series of conferences for this year with their incredible State of Play. Now, we have all set our sights on other upcoming conferences from the likes of Devolver Digital, Summer Game Fest, and of course the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase. We’ve now learned that there is another conference to make time in our schedules for with the Capcom Showcase.
Introducing the #CapcomShowcase, a new livestreamed digital event bringing you the latest #Capcom game information. Tune in on June 13, 3pm PT for around 35 minutes of news and in-depth updates on previously announced Capcom titles.https://t.co/fcLu2YjbYs pic.twitter.com/XHZu7iKJzz

Set to start on June 13th at 3:00 PT, the publisher is planning on showing 35 minutes of news and updates for previously announced Capcom titles. That last tidbit there would seem to rule out any brand-new game announcements, but there is still time to see something new announced at a conference prior and then expanded upon afterward at this showcase.
Even if that’s not the case, there is a whole lot we could see. Something that we know for sure will be there is the Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak expansion. On the topic of other Capcom content that is coming out this month, we may see a small bit of time dedicated to the Capcom Fighting Collection.
Get ready for exciting new Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak reveals in the #CapcomShowcase livestream!

The big ones that people are hoping to see include the Capcom titles shown off during that recent State of Play. Whether it’s the just-announced VR content or the DLC we’re still waiting to hear about, many are hoping to see something new from Resident Evil: Village. A related possibility is seeing something else for the Resident Evil 4 Remake. Although with that game set to come out in March of next year I’m not sure if they’ll be talking more about it so soon.
Then again, another game set for 2023 that is receiving a lot of attention right now is Street Fighter 6. The trailer shown at Sony’s State of Play won a lot of people over with its visuals, the redesigns of its characters (and logo), and the return to a hip-hop theme that hasn’t been seen since Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. There were also some substantial leaks, but Capcom has taken that unfortunate situation in stride thanks to the positive response and continued to show more of the game through social media.
Many others (myself included) still have hope to see a potential new entry for the Dragon’s Dogma series. With Capcom throwing up a website to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the series and now with the director of the first game retweeting about the Capcom Showcase, fingers are being crossed that there will be a surprise announcement. Perhaps we’ll see an announcement at another conference and then a follow-up here.
Other potential titles that could be shown include their new IPs such as Exoprimal and perhaps Pragmata. Both of these are set for 2023 and we haven’t seen much of them lately, especially for the latter. There’s only so much that can be shown in 35 minutes though, so we’ll just have to wait until next Monday to see what is shown.
