While May’s second wave of Xbox Game Pass additions was packed with twelve titles, the first wave of June is currently half of that. It seems likely that we’ll have more to look forward to as the month goes on though. The Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase is on June 12th and the Xbox Wire post mentions for people to keep an eye on their social media for “a few surprises now and again”. For now, let’s take a look at what we know is coming.

Coming first on June 1st is For Honor: Marching Fire Edition for cloud, console, and PC. On top of the standard PvP modes and story mode campaigns, this edition of the game comes with an exclusive PvE arcade mode and immediate access to four heroes from the Wu Lin faction.

The following day will see the Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection being added for console and PC. This collection includes the upgraded versions of all three mainline games from the modern trilogy as well as DLC costumes and previously released modes. Whether you want to play it as the main character Ryu Hayabusa or play through it with any of his ninja allies, each entry will challenge you with quick and tough action. To find out more, check out Alexx’s review of the Nintendo Switch version.

June 7th will see the remaining four titles released from this wave. Coming day one is Spacelines from the Far Out for console and PC. If managing a 60’s aesthetic space airline with independent, needy AI alien passengers sounds like fun to you, you’re likely to have a good time playing this. Procedurally-generated elements, a customizable ship, and the ability to play with up to three others in four-player co-op are sure to keep each trip unique.

For those looking for a different sort of game for flying in space, you might want to check out Chorus on cloud, console, or PC. The third-person space combat title puts you in the pilot seat with Nara, a wanted fugitive who’s flying around in a sentient starcraft called Forsaken. As you go through the open-world adventure you’ll come across puzzles, ancient temples, and new weapons and abilities to better take on enemies in zero-g combat.

There are plenty of future deadly adventures that can happen in a more localized area in Disc Room, which is coming to cloud, console, and PC. When a giant disc appears outside of Jupiter, with many various smaller and sharper discs inside, you’ll have to be the brave one to go explore through the gauntlet of dangerous rooms. Each inevitable death will propel you further the next time with different goals and unlockable abilities. You can find out more with Mike’s review of the game.

This wave started with a Ubisoft title and it will end with one too. The final game being added is Assassin’s Creed Origins for cloud, console, and PC. It’s the entry that began tipping the series into its current action-RPG gameplay and introduces players to protagonist Bayek, as well as the origins of the Assassin Brotherhood in Egypt. It comes at a perfect time too for subscribers as a 60 FPS boost update will be coming to the Xbox Series X|S consoles on June 2nd.

With this first wave of games not being stretched out until the middle of the month as it typically is, it seems likely that we may see more games surprise dropped during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, if not, perhaps just randomly. While we don’t know what else could be added this month, we do know what’s leaving. Players have until June 15th to play Darkest Dungeon, Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance, Greedfall, Limbo, and Worms Rumble before they leave the Xbox Game Pass library.

Samuel (he/him) has been obsessed with video games since he was a kid watching bumbling zombies shuffle down a hallway in Resident Evil 20+ years ago (it's debatable if he should have seen a mature-rated game at that age but he's personally okay with it). His hobby of writing and talking people's ears off about video games has always felt like a perfect match. Feel free to let him talk your ear off on Twitter!: https://twitter.com/xxsammorenoxx
