THQ Nordic recently posted a new trailer to their official YouTube channel. This trailer reveals the studio’s planned release date for the upcoming remaster of the PlayStation 2’s cult classic, Destroy All Humans! 2, which they’re calling Destroy All Humans! 2 Reprobed. The trailer shows the game’s main character, Cryptosporidium-137, getting into various types of shenanigans in America as it was in the year 1969.

You may be aware that THQ Nordic teamed up with Black Forest Games to remaster the original Destroy All Humans! back in the summer of 2020. Alexx reviewed the PlayStation 4 version of that title soon after its release, and I then played through the entirety of it on our YouTube channel. For what it’s worth, I still think Black Forest Games and THQ Nordic did an outstanding job remaking the original game. They even managed to make it adapt quite well to keyboard and mouse controls, which I initially wasn’t sure was possible.

The quality of that remake is the biggest reason why I have faith in this dynamic duo’s ability to work their magic again with the game’s direct sequel. Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed will be releasing on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game is already available for pre-order on various platforms, including Steam. As I mentioned, Destroy All Humans! 2 takes place in 1969, so players will have to contend with the rising tensions of the Cold War and everything that brings with it.

More specifically, Crypto’s main goal is to get revenge on the KGB for blowing up the Furon mothership. The game’s Steam Store page asserts that “you’ll have to form alliances with members of the very species you came to enslave.” I don’t know about you, dear reader, but that certainly piques my interest. According to the game’s newest trailer, Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed is currently slated for release on Tuesday, August 30th, 2022.

David Sanders is, at his core, a man who's just trying to get through his game backlog before the heat death of the universe, and yet can't seem to stop adding to said game backlog. He greatly enjoys many different varieties of games, particularly several notable RPGs and turn-based strategy titles. When he's not helping to build or plan computers for friends, he can usually be found gaming on his personal machine or listening to an audiobook to unwind.
