We’re coming up in the middle of the year and that of course means it’s time for showcases and presentations from the biggest publishers and console makers. This used to just be collectively called E3, but the last couple of years haven’t been too kind for the beloved event and it’s entirely missing this year. While the virtual E3 2021 event did feature big conferences under its branding, it seems likely that they’ll still carry on this year just fine by themselves. This seems to ring true for the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, which will be streaming on June 12th, at 10 a.m. PT.
After acquiring Bethesda Softworks, among many other ZeniMax Media subsidiaries in 2020, Microsoft made sure to put them at the forefront for their big E3 conference last year. The result was arguably one of the most enjoyable conferences of the year. There were huge announcements for games Forza Horizon 5, The Outer Worlds 2, and Redfall to name a few. Huge Xbox Game Pass additions, the multiplayer reveal for Halo Infinite, and a November 2022 date-revealing trailer for Starfield were some of the other highlights for many people.
If this year’s showcase can reach the same highs as last year it stands to reason this will be another fun watch. On the Bethesda Softworks side of things, it seems like a given that we’ll see something new for the previously mentioned Starfield. Redfall should be making an appearance too as it still has a summer 2022 release date. Deathloop could potentially make an appearance as its PlayStation 5 exclusivity period ends in September. MachineGames is on many radars due to their Indiana Jones project as well as the continued hope that news about a new Wolfenstein game will be announced.
There are also plenty of other projects that could be covered. A Plague Tale: Requiem is set to launch on Xbox Game Pass later this year. We know The Coalition, the developers behind the Gears of War franchise, has had time to mess around in Unreal Engine 5. Compulsion Games of We Happy Few fame is additionally known to be working on a new project.
Aside from making predictions and wishes, what can be easily assumed is that we’ll see a heap of more titles announced to be coming to Xbox Game Pass. The showcase will be streamed through many of the Xbox social channels, including their Youtube and Twitch channels.
