Luminous Productions the creative minds behind the Square Enix published Forspoken have pushed the action RPG back from May 24th, 2022, to October 11th, 2022, to focus on polishing the new IP for release. This delay is one of the many we have seen in the past couple of years and is already one of the many delays of 2022, including Evil Dead: The Game, Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League, and Stalker 2: Hearts of Chernobyl.

Forspoken was also rumored to be delayed back on March 2nd, 2022, by a supposed “industry Insider” on Twitter. The insider, who goes by the name AccountNGT, has also made claims that PlayStation staples Sly and Infamous both have new games in development with the former being announced in Q4 and that a Playstation event is also on its way next week.

AccountNGT has also stated that the much anticipated Hogwarts: Legacy will also receive a gameplay trailer sometime this month. This would be a surprise, as many people have assumed the game was delayed out of 2022 entirely due to the lack of information.

These so-called “insiders” have been seemingly popping up with alarming regularity, however, and the recent Wardle Dee Knows Twitter account was made by Nintendo Life’s Jon Cartwright to prove just how easy it was to create and spread misinformation that mainstream video game press outlets would just pick up on and write about.

I am taking what AccountNGT is saying with a heavy dose of skepticism as he has not had a proven track record as of yet besides the Forspoken delay. Like the Nvidia Leak that has proven to be extremely creditable, until I see a Hogwarts: Legacy trailer and an announcement of a State of Play or other PlayStation event, I would argue caution to anyone who has their hopes up.
