While it may be five years since Cuphead first came to our consoles, it looks like this year might be the true year of Cuphead. On January 18th, Netflix dropped the trailer for the upcoming The Cuphead Show! This show will feature ten episodes of adventures with the beloved and daring Cuphead, and his more down-to-earth brother Mugman. Cuphead and Mugman will be voiced respectively by Tru Valentino and Frank Todaro. Joining the cast are Luke Millington-Drake as The Devil,  Joe Hanna as Elder Kettle, Wayne Brady as King Dice, Jim Conroy as Ollie Bulb, and Grey Griffin as Ms. Chalice.

The show is in extremely good hands as two of the creators of Cuphead the game, Chad and Jared Moldenhauer, are the head writers for the show. Due to this, the tone of the show seems to be exactly the same as that of the video game. The only difference is that the characters talk, which allows for there to be more storytelling options. This will be especially useful if the show gets more seasons after the initial one. However, it is important to note that a lot of the physicality of the characters that made the game so much fun appear to still be on full display in the show. In fact, there are quite a few scenes shown in the trailer that look like they could have been levels in the game.

With this show coming out on February 18th and the Cuphead: Delicious Last Course arriving on June 30th, 2022 could genuinely be the year of Cuphead! Now we all just have to sit and wait until we can get a full taste of these two offerings. For more articles on Cuphead, click here.
