Steam’s 2022 Lunar New Year Sale is Nearly Here

Is it time for another Steam sale already? My wallet is still recovering from last year’s Winter Sale. Well, according to the fine folks over at Steam Database, our collective coin purses may not have much more time to convalesce. You see, the wizards who operate SteamDB have worked their magic once again and leaked the (very probably legitimate) dates for the upcoming Steam Lunar New Year Sale. I’m reasonably confident in reporting on this leak because as far as I recall, SteamDB has never been incorrect about this sort of thing.

I’m not sure what sorts of deals we’ll be able to expect during this year’s Lunar New Year Sale. I would classify it as more of a minor sale event. It isn’t exactly as prominent as the annual Summer Sale, after all. Regardless, I’m sure you may well still find it worthwhile to have a look at your wishlist when the extravaganza begins and see if the sale can’t help you whittle it down at least a bit. Due to the fact that this sale may not be quite as large as its typical yearly brethren, I’m afraid I’ll have to refrain from writing up a list of my personal game recommendations while it’s active.

Even so, I’m certainly looking forward to this year’s Steam Lunar New Year Sale just in case there are any games I might discover, regardless of whether or not they’re already on my wishlist. According to SteamDB, this sale will begin on Thursday, January 27th, 2022, and conclude exactly a week later on Thursday, February 3rd. It’s likely that this event will start and end at exactly 10 am PT on those respective dates.

As a final interesting note to close out this article, SteamDB has also discovered that there will reportedly be another Steam Next Fest later in February. For those who might be unaware, a Steam Next Fest is a week-long event during which game developers can showcase their new and upcoming titles through such means as playable game demos and developer live streams.

There are typically upwards of a thousand games showcased during each Next Fest as I recall, so you might want to keep an eye out in case any games about which you know you want more information could be featured then. SteamDB reports that this upcoming Steam Next Fest will be active beginning Monday, February 21st, 2022, and come to a close on February 28th.
