Calling all Assassins! The heroic Master Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze is making his grand debut on the Nintendo Switch with not just one, but all three of his games! Ubisoft and Nintendo dropped a trailer on January 11th announcing that the game would be coming on February 17th. The collection comes with the three games, Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, and Assassin’s Creed Revelations, along with all of their respective downloadable content that came with each game at their initial launch.
This collection is the same one that we saw come to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 15th, 2016. One of the things to be concerned about when video game ports like Assassin’s Creed come to the Nintendo Switch is how far the graphics are dialed down in order for it to run on it. While it is difficult to fully say until we get our hands on the game, a YouTuber by the name of Cycu1 has already done a side-by-side comparison of the Nintendo Switch Trailer and the same scenes playing on the PlayStation 5 via PlayStation 4 backwards compatibility.
One thing that is important to note about the collection is what is on the game cartridge and what needs to be downloaded. The only piece of the content that is on the game cartridge is Assassin’s Creed II and the rest of it has to be downloaded. This also includes various language packs and two movies that come with the collection. All of this downloadable content is said to be a max of 35 GB, which might be too much for those who don’t have a lot of room on their Switch and for those who prefer to have their games entirely in physical form. If you still plan to pick up this collection, it will cost you $39.99.
