Monday, Elden Ring discussed its frame rate. Tuesday, Metal Gear Solid doesn’t have a license to kill, Mass Effect has more to micro-manage, and for once, there is a good (though tragic) story coming out of Fortnite. Wednesday, you could try and re-create nice skate spots in Skater XLDead by Daylight is to get a new chapter, and eBay is still a hive of scum. Thursday, Alexx spoke about an odd little creative game/tool thing coming to Steam next year.

With a week of news behind us, let’s get to the news that broke a little earlier than expected about the Epic Games Store. The Borderlands 2 DLC, Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep, is no longer a DLC for that one game that I don’t enjoy. It has had what the kids call a glow-up and is now standalone. You might be thinking, I’ve not insulted it but I insulted Borderlands 2, why? I like Tiny Tina, in all that is Borderlands, she is one shimmering diamond of Ashly Burch-voiced chaotic wonder, and I love her. I wonder why I, the man that drinks coffee by the bucket load and is himself hyperactive, would like everything about her?

Another thing I don’t particularly like is D&D, and before you get your pitchforks out, I’ve said before that dyslexia sometimes hampers gaming experiences. Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-shot Adventure (with its lengthy name aside) is D&D in the Borderlands universe, and it is voiced by Ashly Burch, surely I’d hate it, right? Wrong suckers! It is a game of D&D I can finally get behind because it is what would happen if I were the DM.

Why is Tiny Tina’s Assault on my “Ability to Stay Awake Through That Title” free this week? Because of the upcoming spin-off game that is (I believe) loosely based around Assault on Dragon Keep‘s concept, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. To once again buck the trend of saying I hate everything, I’m remarkably excited for Wonderlands because it is Tiny Tina and if anything can pull me through fantasy and not liking Borderlands, it is Ashly Burch. Not only that but there is a star-studded cast I somewhat enjoy with Andy Samberg and Wanda Sykes taking up roles. Will Arnett is also there. Will, I liked you in Lego Batman, but you are no Wanda Sykes.

Until Tuesday the 16th of November, yes, a different date, you can pick up Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-shot Adventure on the Epic Games Store for free. So you’ll want to be quick for that one. Meanwhile, we waited until Friday to publish this out of some wide-eyed hope that I’d not have to talk much about the Rogue Company Epic Pack, which is available for free until the 18th, for pretty obvious reasons. Much like Borderlands, I hate free-to-play stuff telling you something like this has $34.99 worth of value.

Anyway, onto the free games starting next week. It is an indie lollapalooza, which sounds likes the worst pile of plinky-plonky acoustic nonsense to be connected to the phrase “independent” since Ed Sheeran inspired idiot after idiot with a loosely tuned guitar sitting on their bed watching YouTube. See Nevermind The Buzzcocks, that’s what you were supposed to be able to do. Anyway, Radiohead has this stupid art-exhibit thing called Kid A Mnesia Exhibition, which is the lack of creativity in Thom Yorke summed up in one cheap and clumsy symbolic name. Meanwhile, Never Alone is what would happen to Roshan if Sid, Manny, and Diego didn’t save him. Guild of Dungeoneering is the only game that has a chance with me next week.
