Circumspect, that’s where I would be right now if I were anyone leading Ubisoft. I would be very cautious of what it is we do to get headlines, especially after that NFT business last week, but more so the countless times employees have voiced major concerns over a complete lack of action. This makes the timing of the current free game trilogy over on Ubisoft Connect, to use that word again, circumspect.

Timed alongside not only employees making noise once again, but also Ubisoft’s 35th anniversary, you can currently pick up the Assassin’s Creed Chronicles trilogy over on the Ubisoft-based launcher, Ubisoft Connect. As a set of 2.5D side-scrolling platformers, it is an off-shoot of the series you might be more familiar with when it comes to the name. Still time and setting jumping like the main series, this trilogy goes from China to India to Russia. Some of those are a bit odd in terms of choices given the lack of Christian religion in either of those countries, but that never stopped a stabbing enthusiast before.

From the very little I’ve been able to play in any given time, Chronicles is an odd mix of platforming, stabbing, and stealth. At the best of times, 3D games tend to have an issue with that, so somewhat crashing that down half a dimension into 2.5D does get as infuriating as it might sound. Though if you’d like to pick up Assassin’s Creed Chronicles, it is available on PC until the 12th of November over on Ubisoft Connect.
