Monday, the Uncharted trailer showed Tom Holland was miscast, and Fallout 76 has a Halloween event despite being the most horrible thing about Fallout. Tuesday, leaked Steam sale dates were confirmed, Halo Infinite tried to explain what’s going on, and Fallout 76 tried to add more things to make me care. Wednesday, WoW‘s next patch was given a release, more has been said on Payday 3, and Alchemic Cutie also got a release date. Then to wrap up a long week of news, Sony held this month’s State of Play and BlizzCon is much like Activision-Blizzard, not happening.

If you thought I was quite misanthropic there about this week’s news, you’ve not seen what I have to say about DARQ: Complete Edition on the Epic Games Store this week. By all means, I get it, a 2.5D puzzle adventure about a young lad having what seems to be creepy and lucid dreams about the clowns and skeletons marrying on Sunday, or something. However, I’ve said it before, I am not someone who enjoys all this “spooky season” nonsense. I don’t appreciate many games lacking this much color either. It was a game that was never aimed at me despite being a puzzle game. Maybe it is also that random Q out of nowhere, why the odd spelling?

Once again, I feel like I have to say this because sometimes it feels like it might be lost in translation: I’m not telling you whether or not to pick up any of the games available via Epic. If I wanted to do that, I could do that in a tweet. These articles are often just to tell you that something is available and that sometimes includes me excitedly talking about things I’ve played or enjoy the concept of. However, just the same as I’ll talk about something with breathless enthusiasm, I’ll be tired of things I have no interest in, such as “spoopy” horror that jumps out clanging saucepans and telling me I am enjoying a story.

All this week, you can pick up DARQ: Complete Edition on the Epic Games Store until the morning of the 4th of November. This means next Friday people will be celebrating terrorism in the UK, so remember to give your pets extra cuddles. What did that have to do with next week’s game? Nothing, Aven Colony is a sci-fi city-builder. I just think the idea of calling every brown person a horrible terrorist and then on November 5th scaring everyone’s pets by celebrating a white terrorist’s failure is stupid. Anyway, next week I’ll be complaining about something else, bye!
