Not even a nuclear apocalypse can get rid of the Halloween spirit. This year, the Fallout 76 Halloween event will have players trick-or-treating at each other’s camps. Of course, they will first need to get candy to hand out to the other vault dwellers.

To being with, each player will need to claim their free candy bowl from the atomic shop. This bowl needs to be placed in a players camp. The owner of the camp will then need to fill up the bowl with candy before any other players can come to trick-or-treat at it.

There are two main ways to get candy to put into your bowl for the event. The simplest way to get candy is to buy it from train station vendors. Buying candy this way will cost you at least 1700 caps. The price can be higher if you do not have the barter perk on when you buy the candy.

The other way to get the candy is to hunt down Spooky Scorched. These are legendary Scorched that can spawn in the wasteland in any location Scorched can spawn. It is important to note the Spooky Scorched should not spawn in any interior cells. This means if you need to go through a door with a loading screen to get to the Scorched, no Spooky Scorched should spawn.

On top of the Spooky Scorched having candy, they also give spooky treat bags and a legendary weapon or armor piece. The treat bags will give random ammo and meds when opening them. They also have a chance to give a costume piece to the player. This makes hunting down Spooky Scorched very worthwhile.

The Halloween event will also have daily and weekly challenges that will reward the player with consumables. The daily challenges will require the player to hand out five pieces of candy to other players. Go trick-or-treating at five other players’ camps and kill five Spooky Scorched.

The rewards for these daily challenges will be atom shop consumables and some S.C.O.R.E. for the Battle Pass. Completing the weekly challenges will reward the player with S.C.O.R.E., rare crafting materials, or even Halloween costumes. Completing both Weekly Challenges will reward the player with the new Popcorn Machine.

This Halloween event will run through November 2nd. Once the Halloween event ends, players will be waiting until December for the next major update according to Bethesda.
