A lot of us at Phenixx Gaming have been talking about The Isn’t Company’s upcoming game Hometopia. After Keiran checked out the demo at the Steam Next Fest earlier this month, we’ve all been excited to enjoy a game about building and decorating homes. However, it seems we aren’t even close to the only ones excited, as the developers have released statistics from their Steam Next Fest experience.

According to the press release, the developers were overwhelmed by the positive response from the demo. As a result, they wanted to release some statistics in the hope of helping other indie devs who might want to know what to expect when participating in the Steam Next Fest in the future. Here are the statistics they provided from the six-day festival:

  • Over 1,200 days worth (or 28,000 total hours) of playtime
  • Tens of thousands of downloads
  • Hundreds of concurrent players building simultaneously in multiplayer Sandbox worlds
  • Average playtime of an hour and a half
  • 200,000 unique individuals tuning into the Livestream
  • In the Top 10 Trending on the front page throughout the entire Next Fest

Granted, the demo only allowed people to play the sandbox mode in single or multiplayer. This demo didn’t include any content from Hometopia’s Career mode, which the developers are currently working on, along with addressing feedback from users who played the demo. Alex Ahlund, the company’s founder and game director commented on the success, stating:

We’re floored by how overwhelmingly positive everyone has been about the game’s demo and the amazing designs players have built in such a short amount of time.  We’re incredibly excited to launch Hometopia in the near future, as we hope to bring the game one step closer to being Your Home in the Metaverse.”

Hometopia is set to launch on PC in January 2022 and will have full Steam Workshop support, which is really exciting. I’m sure there will be plenty of Hometopia-related content on Phenixx Gaming when it releases, so keep an eye out for that.
