A 27-year-old economist, Pedro Paulo Gonçalves Vasconcellos da Costa, has become the lead suspect in a murder on July the 22nd in Rio. The murder of dubbing actor Christiane Louise, known for her role as Cortana in Halo, Mercy in Overwatch, Sivir in League of Legends, the lead in the titular series Bayonetta, among many other roles for the Portuguese market. Louise was found in the west of Rio with multiple stab wounds recently. On Friday, homicide detectives arrested Pedro Paulo, who was staying with Christiane Louise during the weeks leading up to her murder.

In a report by O Globo, a Brazilian newspaper (of course, in Portuguese), they note that Pedro Paulo had the help of his mother and someone else to hide the body, with his original response when questioned on Louise’s disappearance that she was out of town. In later confessions given to the police, Pedro Paulo stated he was protecting himself, claiming Christiane Louise was “possessed by the devil.” When he still held his innocence, he claimed that Louise would be out of town for 15-days with her boyfriend, and he was instructed to take her of her dogs. At the time of writing Pedro Paulo’s mother, Eliane Gonçalves Vasconcellos da Costa, and a yet to be identified individual are believed to be at large.

Since her passing was announced online by a friend and fellow voice actor, Mário Tupinambá Filho, fans have been sharing their tributes online. Former Blizzard employee Frank O’Connor also took to Twitter to share his condolences.
