Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the creators of South Park, agreed on a new deal with Paramount last week. The package includes a $900 million payday with the company that owns Comedy Central, home to their long-running animated series. The new deal includes the development of films for Paramount+ as well as a project PhenixxGaming readers might get excited about: a new game.
We don’t know what setting this game will take place in, but we know that it’s a “3D video game that is set in the world of South Park.” So far, two modern games have featured the characters of this iconic series. First came The Stick of Truth, a game that turned the foul-mouthed kids of South Park into fantasy characters. The game played like a turn-based RPG with leveling up and the practice of obtaining new attacks and special moves.
Next came The Fractured But Whole, a game that turned to a superhero theme. Both games featured alter-egos that the characters of the show used for make-believe. In the game, however, it feels very real and plays nicely for fans of the show. If you played the games, then you’ll notice they actually feel like episodes of South Park themselves. They’re both just as raunchy and offensive as well. We don’t know what will come next for the actual game that’s arriving in the future. If you’re excited to hear about a new game from the South Park universe, then let us know in the comments!
