YAY, it is my favorite time of the month. By favorite, I mean most hated point of writing whatsoever, making me hate things I don’t actually hate. Let’s get some of this Prime Gaming mess out of the way, shall we? I guess we should start with the obvious ones: You can still claim up to 400K in GTA Online cash throughout the month, and players of Red Dead Online get emotes. World of Tanks fans can get a Ninja-themed (not the streamer) bundle and some vague Japanese decals, and Valorant players get a construction-style face mask gun buddy and something called “EP 2 Formation Player Card.”

Those still playing Fall Guys can pick up the Chart Topper bundle this month, and Apex Legends fans can pick up the Revenant skin, Sakura Steel. Moving on to MMO games now, Destiny 2 players can get the All Alone bundle, and Warframe players can get the Loki Verv bundle and the Verv Atelia Syandana. RuneScape players can pick up the five knowledge bombs and currency-pack available right now. Though if you want to shoot your fellow man online, the Rainbow Six Siege offer is the Sunstark bundle. If magic is more your thing, Spellbreak‘s third and final drop of chapter 2, the fashionable forebear outfit, is available at the time of writing.

The first game of the month I’ll talk about today is the sequel to Telltale’s other Batman game available last month. Batman: The Enemy Within makes me wonder if you might be focusing a little more on this “John Doe” mystery set up in the previous series of episodic games. I’ll say it, the game isn’t one of subtly and like most Batman media tends to be, it is smashing you in the face with its one villain and his sidekicks (spoilers alert). If you are a fan of Batman and Telltale games, this is by far a treat. Otherwise, there may be little to no interest in it.

Sports! Players of UFC 4 can pick up the Hawaiian shirt and drinking hat bundle to look like an American at motorsport events. Madden NFL 21 players can get the 10th Prime Gaming pack, and FIFA 21 players can get the 7th of their packs. Might as well move to mobile games: MLB Tap Sports Baseball 2021 offers a couple of loot boxes and in-game currency, players of AxE can pick up Prime bundles throughout the month, and V4 offers support packages and assorted in-game consumables. Players of Sea of Thieves can get emotes and other cosmetics throughout the month too.

Everyone can music in Magic Tiles 3 as it continues to sap my soul out of me, and Word Farm Adventure is baby’s first Scrabble, offering several boosts for mobile players. Rogue Company players can get an emote, Legends of Runeterra players can pick up Epic Wildcards, League of Legends players can pick up skin shards, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang players can pick up chests and skin trial cards. World of Warships fans can (of course) pick up a ship pack, as players of World of Warships: Legends can pick up a collection of boosters and other consumables.

I make it clear often that I am done with Rogue-likes/lites, as I feel I might have played enough of them in my life. RAD is a 3D isometric Rogue-like game set in a world that has been bombed to rubble, creating a post-post-apocalypse in Double Fine’s 2019 game. I might be breaking my rule against Rogue-likes soon, as RAD is something I’ve been meaning to play for quite a while now. Now I have an excuse to. By far it is something I’m excited to play at some point and one of the highlights of this month’s offerings.

Moving swiftly on, players of Ludo King on mobile can pick up themes and 7-days of voice chat. SMITE (at the time of writing) is still offering skins and might be resetting drops this month, and Epic Seven is offering more consumables. Throughout the month, Last Day on Earth is offering puppies and in-game skins. Maplestory M is offering something called a Cube Box and ten auto-battler (1-hour each) tickets.

Next is a strange little one this time around, an artsy story-driven piece, The Wanderer: Frankenstein’s Creature is a beautiful-looking game using up several mismatched gameplay elements. This was the first time I’d heard of it, so all I’m going on is gameplay videos/trailers and screenshots. One section shows a rhythm-game style mechanic and other bits are hidden-object puzzles. This certainly gets the award for being the weird choice this month.

Players of Dauntless can pick up the latest weapon bundle. Players that are quick can still pick up 14-days ad-free play of Helix Jump and the same can be said for players of Black Desert Online, as you will have to be fast to pick up the latest upgrade bundle. Both end mid-next week. Players of Darkness Rises can pick up 2 imperial costumes and four Choice Boxes. Additionally, players of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla can still pick up the Druidic settlement bundle right now, which rounds out the in-game loot sections for this month.

Well, I only covered this several weeks ago (Ok, early April) during the Epic Games Store giveaway, and I didn’t like it for its very slow pacing. Of course, I say this as an impatient man that runs on coffee like a car runs on liquified dead dinosaurs, but it never gelled with me. Tales of the Neon Sea is a beautiful, colorful, gritty, and well-meaning game, but it is the type of game you need to be in the mood to play, I am not.

Next up is something I highly suggest playing: Automachef, a puzzle game about automation in a diner’s (rather large) kitchen. It is like programming, as you create these intricate systems just to make a cheeseburger. All you are doing is playing the other side of Diner Dash. I quite like it as it is a good test of making something as simple and compact as you possibly can, then you see how someone else does it, and you question reality. It is great fun, and is another highlight alongside RAD.

Well, this is just thrown in to boost the number of games, right? Portal Dogs is a port of a mobile phone puzzle game, though one that doesn’t ludicrously monetize itself. It doesn’t look all that fun or challenging either, sadly. It is a shame, as I wouldn’t mind playing a portable puzzle game right now. If I enjoyed Portal Dogs on PC, I might have done that and got it on mobile. The problem is I don’t even have the desire to play Portal Dogs at all right now after looking it up.
