Pride Month is almost over, and I haven’t done nearly the amount of coverage I might like. However, last year we covered the Summer of Pride event thrown by Midboss, and we are now aware of a third annual event. This year, the Season of Pride 2021 event will be hosted on the Midboss Twitch Channel for the entire month of July.

Because of the Steam Summer Sale (presumably), they actually did a sale early (that ended today) that I was unaware of before writing this article. However, the Season of Pride 2021 event was altered a little from last year according to the press release, which states:

Rebranded from Summer of Pride to be more internationally inclusive as seasons change based on hemisphere, Season of Pride will feature more than 65 queer Twitch streamers raising funds for life-changing LGBTQ+ charities Trans Lifeline, Trevor Project, and GaymerX in hopes of surpassing last year’s $25,000 raised.

Creators like Jeff Brutlag, Twitch Staff Member 8BitDylan, Deere, and many others will stream throughout this month-long event. LGBTQ+ inclusive games such as Anodyne, Anodyne 2, the Dragon Age series, and Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator will also be featured.

If you are a frequent Twitch viewer, this is a perfect time to expose yourself to all kinds of Queer creators and games you may not know about. While Pride Month will be over when this officially starts, I personally think this will encourage more people to celebrate it more frequently than just every June. Organizations such as Devolver Digital, Annapurna Interactive, and Green Man Gaming are also sponsoring the event.

If that isn’t enough for you, as previously mentioned all of the donations raised during this event will be going toward three charities that directly help and affect the LGBTQ+ community.
